In a rural village of Jilin province, China, local authorities needed to manage the passage of heavy vehicles transporting construction materials and machinery along narrow asphalt roads. The project aimed to minimize road surface damage and ensure safe access for both vehicles and pedestrians during intensive infrastructure work.
Worksite: Public village road network with existing asphalt surfaces.
Road Situation: Narrow, paved asphalt roads vulnerable to deformation under heavy vehicle pressure.
Load Requirements: Support for vehicles weighing 40 to 80 tons.
Primary Objective: Protect the road surface from rutting, cracking, and deformation while providing temporary access roads for heavy-duty equipment and pedestrian movement.
Continuous heavy vehicle traffic over rural asphalt roads risks causing irreversible damage such as indentations, asphalt cracking, and subsidence. Additionally, ensuring safety for local pedestrians in high-traffic zones presented significant operational and safety risks during the construction period.
To address these issues, Shandong Ningjin Xinxing Chemical Co., LTD. supplied high-strength Duramats heavy duty road mats made of UHMWPE protection mats. These mats were specifically designed to act as asphalt road protection mats, distributing the weight of large vehicles and preventing direct pressure on delicate asphalt surfaces.
For this application, modular mats sized 3000mm × 2500mm × 37mm were laid across the asphalt roads, forming continuous temporary road mats to safeguard the roadway and allow efficient passage of both vehicles and pedestrians.
Road Surface Protection: Prevents cracking, rutting, and permanent asphalt deformation under heavy loads.
High Load Capacity: Supports up to 80 tons, ideal for transporting construction materials and equipment.
Low Friction, Non-Slip Surface: Improves driving safety and pedestrian traction.
Durable UHMWPE Protection Mats: High wear resistance, impact resistance, and corrosion protection.
Quick Installation & Reusable: Rapid setup and repositioning with modular connections, reusable for multiple projects.
Environmentally Friendly: Manufactured from non-toxic, recyclable materials, minimizing environmental impact.
Protected existing village asphalt roads from deformation and surface cracking.
Enabled the safe passage of 40–80 ton vehicles without damaging public infrastructure.
Enhanced pedestrian safety by creating non-slip, level walking paths adjacent to vehicle lanes.
Reduced maintenance and road repair costs for local authorities.
Minimized construction delays with rapid deployment of temporary road mats.
