Heavy duty outrigger padss are manufactured using engineered UHMWPE/HDPE material, providing superior strength-to-weight ratio than the timbers commonly used to support outriggers and crane arms. These lightweight, usable pads provide a large non-slip surface area for absorbing load.
Product introduction
XINXING heavy equipment outrigger pads are designed to distribute concentrated stabilizer loads across a wider supporting area. They help reduce ground pressure, limit outrigger sinkage and protect the surface beneath cranes, pump trucks, aerial lifts, utility vehicles and other mobile equipment.
Manufactured from engineered UHMWPE or HDPE, these crane outrigger pads provide a reusable alternative to timber, aluminium and steel supports. Polyethylene construction combines practical handling with resistance to water, corrosion and splintering.
Standard and custom sizes, thicknesses, shapes and colours are available. Pad selection should be based on the maximum reaction at one outrigger, outrigger foot dimensions, allowable ground-bearing pressure and actual working conditions.
Heavy equipment transfers concentrated loads through relatively small stabilizer feet. A correctly sized pad increases the bearing area beneath the outrigger, helping reduce the pressure applied to the ground.
XINXING offers both UHMWPE and HDPE material options. The appropriate material and thickness depend on the pad dimensions, expected load, operating environment and handling requirements.
Polyethylene outrigger pads can provide lower handling weight than many timber or metal alternatives of comparable dimensions. Actual pad weight depends on the material, size and thickness selected.
The polyethylene structure does not absorb significant moisture, rot or corrode. It also avoids the splintering commonly associated with deteriorated timber supports.
The supporting surface is designed to improve contact between the pad and outrigger foot. Pads must still be kept clean and positioned on continuously supported ground.
Mud, oil and common site debris can be removed from the non-absorbent surface. Pads can be inspected, stored and reused across multiple equipment operations and projects.

The published capacity of up to 300 tons does not apply to every pad size. Actual suitability depends on the material, dimensions, thickness, outrigger foot contact area, load direction and supporting ground.
Square pads provide a broad supporting area and are suitable for many cranes, pump trucks, aerial platforms and utility vehicles. Multiple standard dimensions are available.
Round pads can be produced for equipment, storage racks or operating procedures where a circular configuration is preferred. Diameter and thickness must be selected according to the required bearing area.
UHMWPE pads are suitable for demanding applications where impact resistance, wear resistance and repeated handling are important.
HDPE pads provide reusable support for stabilizer-equipped machinery operating on prepared ground, pavement, grass and other assessed surfaces.
XINXING can review custom requirements including:
Pad length and width
Pad diameter
Material and thickness
Round or square shape
Colour
Logo and equipment identification
Drawing-based configurations
Distribute concentrated loads beneath outriggers during lifting operations on construction sites, industrial yards, paved areas and prepared working surfaces.
Support stabilizer legs when the concrete pump boom is deployed and high reactions are transferred through the vehicle outriggers.
Provide a broader supporting area for boom lifts, truck-mounted platforms, cherry pickers and other aerial equipment fitted with stabilizer legs.
Support utility trucks, telecommunications vehicles and roadside maintenance equipment operating on grass, pavement or assessed soft ground.
Provide stabilizer support for emergency vehicles and aerial apparatus when outriggers are deployed during rescue or maintenance operations.
Support stabilizer-equipped drilling units, service vehicles and other mobile equipment operating at pipeline, oilfield and energy project sites.
Provide outrigger support for lifting and maintenance equipment used during wind turbine installation and energy infrastructure projects.
Heavy duty outrigger pads can also be used beneath suitable jacks and stabilizer feet on commercial trailers, material handlers and other mobile machinery.
Total equipment weight alone does not determine the required pad size. Provide the following information before selecting a heavy equipment outrigger pad:
Equipment make and model
Maximum reaction at each outrigger
Outrigger foot dimensions
Allowable ground-bearing pressure
Ground or pavement condition
Required pad shape
Handling and storage limitations
Operating temperature and site environment
Required quantity and delivery destination
Obtain the highest expected reaction at one outrigger from the equipment manufacturer, load chart, lift plan or qualified engineer. Do not divide the total equipment weight equally between all outriggers.
The supporting soil, pavement or structure must be assessed to establish the pressure it can safely support under the planned operating conditions.
As an initial calculation, divide the maximum outrigger reaction by the allowable ground-bearing pressure. This provides the minimum theoretical bearing area before pad strength, stiffness and operating allowances are considered.
A pad with sufficient surface area may still be unsuitable if it is too thin, inadequately supported or exposed to excessive deflection. Material, thickness, foot contact area and ground contact must be reviewed together.
Larger or thicker pads may require mechanical handling. Confirm the pad weight, storage space and placement method before ordering.
Inspect each pad for cracks, deep cuts, permanent deformation or other visible damage before use.
Remove sharp objects, loose stones and debris from the intended pad position.
Confirm that the pad will have continuous support from the ground without open voids.
Position the outrigger foot within the specified bearing area of the pad.
Lower the outrigger gradually and check for pad movement, excessive deflection or ground settlement.
Monitor the supporting ground and pad position during equipment operation.
Clean and inspect the pads before storage and subsequent use.
Do not stack outrigger pads unless the products and arrangement are specifically designed for stacking. Pads must not be used to bridge trenches, drainage channels or unsupported gaps.
When additional height or engineered cribbing is required, review XINXING stack cribbing blocks separately.
| Comparison | UHMWPE / HDPE Pads | Timber Supports |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture absorption | Non-absorbent polyethylene structure | Can absorb moisture and become waterlogged |
| Splintering | Does not splinter like wood | May crack or splinter after repeated use |
| Cleaning | Non-absorbent surface is easier to wash | Mud, oil and moisture may penetrate the material |
| Shape consistency | Manufactured to defined dimensions | Condition may change through moisture and wear |
| Custom options | Size, thickness, shape, colour and logo options | Generally limited to cut timber dimensions |
| Reuse | Designed for inspection, cleaning and repeated use | Service condition depends on rot, cracking and contamination |
Final product selection must be based on verified performance requirements. Material type alone does not establish a safe working load.

They are placed beneath stabilizer or outrigger feet to distribute concentrated equipment loads over a wider supporting area. Common equipment includes cranes, concrete pump trucks, aerial lifts, utility vehicles and drilling machinery.
XINXING supplies UHMWPE and HDPE outrigger pad options. The suitable material and thickness depend on the required dimensions, load, handling method and working environment.
No. The published capacity of up to 300 tons applies only to selected configurations. Each application must be checked against the pad material, dimensions, thickness, outrigger reaction and supporting ground.
Yes. XINXING accepts requests for custom dimensions, thicknesses, round or square formats, colours, logos and drawing-based configurations, subject to technical review.
They can help reduce ground pressure by increasing the bearing area, but they cannot compensate for inadequate ground preparation. Very weak, saturated or disturbed ground may require additional engineering controls.
Standard pads should not be stacked unless the products and arrangement are specifically designed and approved for that purpose. Use purpose-designed cribbing when additional height is required.
Provide the equipment model, maximum outrigger reaction, foot dimensions, ground-bearing pressure, ground condition, preferred pad size or shape, quantity, delivery country and any customisation requirements.
